Student Cell Phone Guidelines for ALL Students (Elementary and Secondary)

In June 2025, Texas Governor Gregg Abbot signed House Bill 1481 which prohibits student cell phone use during the school day. The bill also prohibits devices such as smart watches tablets, and other devices capable of transmitting or receiving data.

Elementary students who bring a cell phone to school will be required to secure their phones in the front office. Secondary students will continue to follow the cell phone policy that was adopted during the 2024-2025 school year which requires students to place their cell phone in a magnet-locked cell phone pouch that stays with them during the school day.
